فَإِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ

Asad : And when the sky is rent asunder and becomes red like [burning] oil18 -
Malik : When the heaven splits asunder and reddens like red-oil.
Mustafa Khattab :

˹How horrible will it be˺ when the heavens will split apart, becoming rose-red like ˹burnt˺ oil!

Pickthall : And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide
Yusuf Ali : When the sky is rent asunder and it becomes red like ointment: 5199
Transliteration : Faitha inshaqqati alssamao fakanat wardatan kaalddihani

Asad 18 This is one of several legitimate interpretations of the term dihan (see Tabari); another is "freshly tanned [or "red"] leather" synonymous with adim (Zamakhshari); and yet another, "dregs of olive-oil" (Raghib). All these interpretations have one idea in common - namely, the sudden and surprising change (or changes) of colour to which the sky will be subject at the Last Hour.

Yusuf Ali 5199 Melting away like grease or ointment. The red colour will be due to the flames and the heat. The whole of the world as we know it now will dissolve.
