| وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِي هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا وَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا |
| Asad | : | And, indeed, many facets have We given [to Our message] in this Qur'an, so that they [who deny the truth] might take it to heart: but all this only increases their aversion. |
| Malik | : | We have explained things in various ways in this Qur'an so that they may receive admonition, yet it has only added to their aversion. |
| Mustafa Khattab | : | We have surely varied ˹the signs˺ in this Quran so perhaps they may be mindful, but it only drives them farther away. |
| Pickthall | : | We verily have displayed (Our warnings) in this Qur'an that they may take heed, but it increaseth them in naught save aversion. |
| Yusuf Ali | : | We have explained (things) in various (ways) in this Qur'an in order that they may receive admonition but it only increases their flight (from the Truth)! 2227 |
| Transliteration | : | Walaqad sarrafna fee hatha alqurani liyaththakkaroo wama yazeeduhum illa nufooran |

Things are explained in the Qur-an from all points of view, individual and national, by means of stories, parables, and figures of speech, and by way of categorical commands. But those who are evil, instead of profiting by such instruction, often go farther and farther away from the Truth. |
