I think we have all heard enough about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, by now. The two days come right after Thanksgiving Thursday, kicking off the holiday shopping season. On these two days, everyone looks forward to the best deals and sales in stores and online, respectively. Some even go into a shopping frenzy, camping outside their favorite stores waiting for their doors to open, and even fighting other shoppers for their preferred items.

For Muslims, Fridays and Mondays have a much deeper meaning. Of course, we always have Friday Prayers and for those who choose, Fasting Mondays!

But have you ever heard of #GivingTuesday? Giving Tuesday has been going on for about five years and it is a chance to counter the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday by giving or getting involved in charitable causes.

This #GivingTuesday consider donating to the Alim Foundation by visiting:

Our web site,, and our Alim Qur’an and Hadith app contain a wealth of Islamic information and content and they are offered as an absolutely FREE service. The expenses behind creating and maintaining the technology are covered by your generous contributions.

If you appreciate that Islamic knowledge is made free and accessible for all, and you support Alim’s efforts, please consider donating today. We pray that it be accepted as a Sadaqa Jariya for you, as defined by the Prophet, peace be upon him, in the following hadith:

"When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity (Sadaqa Jariya), knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him." (Muslim)

Please share this message with your friends and family to encourage them to donate to #Alim this #GivingTuesday.
